GORP Recipe #1 – No Peanuts Trail Mix
Everything you need to make this trail mix can be bought at your local grocery store. Store-bought trail mix is a lot more common than you might think.
Fortunately, there is a mix of seeds, dried fruit, and chocolate (oh, yes, chocolate!) that is both nutritious and tasty. When you’re looking for a trail mix to keep you going, make sure it has protein, fiber, and some good fats. Make this nut-free trail mix right away!
The seeds contain protein, healthy fats in dark chocolate, and fiber in dried fruit. This nut-free trail mix also helps your metabolism because the capsaicin in chili-rubbed pepitas speeds it up.
You’re going to mix raw pepitas, chia seeds, and spices with some water to make a paste. You’ll also need some water to make a paste-like mixture.
To spread the seeds out on a baking sheet, add more chili powder or even dried cayenne pepper. And then bake! Watch them to make sure your seeds don’t burn.
Once the chili-rubbed pepitas have cooled, you’ll mix them with sunflower seeds, dried fruit, and chocolate chips. You can choose what you like best!

Almonds, pecans, and cashews were the nuts used in this trail mix because they were both nutty and crunchy at the same time and not salty. If you have a lot of Brazil nuts, don’t use too many of them because they aren’t good for you in large amounts.
A mix of raw seeds is great for a wide range of tastes. Pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, and flaxseeds are some things you can use.
A trail mix with raisins and cranberries gives it a tart and sweet taste.
Add chocolate chips or some colorful M&M’s to the recipe to add color and sweetness.
In a trail mix, Kosher Salt/Sea Salt helps balance the salty and sweet flavors by adding a touch of salt.
Get all of your ingredients together before you start. Add the nuts and the seeds to a medium-sized bowl and mix them well. Add dried fruit, chocolate, and a little salt. Mix everything and spread the salt around. Add to a ziplock bag or an airtight container.
For a different taste, you can toast the nuts and seed. In a 350F oven for 8-10 minutes or until the nuts, peanuts, and cashews start to turn brown, put them on a baking sheet. Toast the seeds by putting them in a dry frying pan and cooking them over medium-low heat for 4 minutes, stirring often. When the seeds start to turn golden, the process is done.
GORP Recipe #3 – Sweet & Spicy Sriracha Trail Mix
If you like crunchy snacks, you’ll love this trail mix. It’s so easy to make that it’ll quickly become a favorite with everyone in your family. People love this snack for game days and parties because it is sweet, salty, and spicy all at the same time. It’s also great for snacking, but it’s also great for when you want to eat something.
To be able to do this trail mix, you will need the following ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups of honey pretzels can be bought from a store, or you can make them yourself
- The Huy Fong Sriracha Almonds have about 1 1/4 cups of them
- Pumpkin or sunflower seeds: 1/3 cup
- Dried cranberries: 1/4 cup of dried cranberries
To create this, mix all ingredients together in a medium-sized bowl until they are well mixed. It’s best to keep it in an airtight box.
GORP Recipe #4 – Triple Creek Ranch GORP
To make this kind of GORP, you will need the following ingredients:
- 12 oz of Old Fashioned Oatmeal
- One cup of sliced almonds
- a cup of nuts, pepita shells, or walnut shells
- 1 cup of chopped up hazelnuts
- 1 cup of sweetened coconut
- 1/3 cup of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 cup of maple syrup
- 1/2 cup of canola oil
- 1 cup each of raisins, golden raisins, dried cranberries, and M&M’s
Making Triple Creek Ranch GORP is easy. A 350F oven must be readied. Toss the oats, nuts, cinnamon, coconut, brown sugar, and a little bit of brown sugar together. Mix the syrup and the oil.
Toss the mixture until it is evenly covered with the dry ingredients, then pour it over and mix it. Spread on a sheet pan that has been greased. Then, put the bread in the oven and turn it in every 5 minutes.
Bake until the bread is evenly browned all the way through. Remove the food from the oven and stir it often as it cools. Add 1 cup of raisins, golden raisins, dried cranberries, and M&M chocolate candies to the mix, too. Keep it in an airtight container to keep it from getting dirty.
GORP Recipe #5 – Chocolate Lovers’ Trail Mix
For the choco lovers out there, this trail mix is for you. You will need one tablespoon of chocolate chips. It would be good to have about 1/8 cup of roasted peanuts, almonds, or macadamia nuts in the dish. You will also need 1/8 of raisins, dried cranberries, dried cherries, or a mix of dried fruits and 1/8 cup high-fiber cereal, oat squares, and so on.
In a medium-sized bowl, mix all the ingredients and put them in the bowl.
